RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Creates and reviews designs, drawings, DBI’s (Data Base Instructions),
specifications, etc. involving existing technology or applications.
• Ensures that projects meet specifications, standards and performance requirements
within area of expertise.
• Participates as a team member & communicates information to appropriate
parties at the appropriate time.
• Has some customer contact, usually with supervision.
• Makes presentations.
• Begins to develop relationships with customer; technical or service personnel.
• Encourages positive feedback from all directions. Receptive to critical comments;
actively seeks out diverse perspectives.
• Operates within local organization and accomplishes work with some consultation.
• Receives general instructions for routine projects & detailed instructions for
more complex projects.
• Receives some guidance on process and timing.

MAIN TASKS:
• Creates and reviews designs, drawings, DBI’s (database information), specifications,
etc. of existing technology or applications and ensures that assignments meet
standards and performance requirements within area of expertise.
• Uses the CAD and database systems and facilities to make layouts, analyse designs,
evaluate equipment systems and generate new equipment designs.
• Prepares documentation, information and communications such as ECN (Engineering
Change Notices), DBI (Data Base Information) and engineering specifications and
ensures conformance to all policies and procedures related to engineering functions,
labor reporting and systems reporting.
• Conducts analysis, ensures that designs are workable, makes recommendations and
develops alternative solutions with conclusions reviewed by higher levels.
• Consults with other departments on equipment designs, problems and questions.
• Prepares technical data and papers for sales personnel, customers and publications.
• Tests and evaluates prototypes and products to determine design limits and needed
improvements.
• Prepares test reports and closure reports on engineering project assignments.
• Assists and checks the work of drafters.
• Helps prepare project plans, schedules, and status reports.
• Participates in product standardization projects.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering. One to three years of experience applying working
principles within assigned technical field or Masters degree and no experience.
• Working knowledge of specific process technologies, procedures, products and
applications.
• Working knowledge of at least one FMC or related product line – exposure to other
product lines. Some knowledge of competitor products.
• Demonstrated ability to create functional & cost effective designs that meet
specification requirements with supervision.
• Demonstrates some capability for conceptualizing designs.
• Some understanding of internal economic factors affecting projects to which
assigned.
• Must be proficient in use of CAD and Database systems related to Engineering
functions.
• Shows evidence of good organization skills.
