The Mar Menor region of Spain has a unique micro climate owing to the proximity of the Mar Menor (small sea), this ensures that Summers are not too hot or Winters too cold.

This is a very popular area for water sports enthusiasts. Wind surfing and sailing schools are numerous and there are a number of top quality marinas.The waters are exceptionally clear & clean. One of the more unusual locals is the rare Sea Horse, now a protected species.

The main towns are Lo Pagan, Santiago de la Ribera, San Javier and Los Alcazares. All have a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants, with many beachside seafood chiringitos (seasonal bar/restaurants). The tree lined promenade runs from San Javier right up to Lo Pagan and many people say it is reminiscent of the French Riviera and is a wonderful place to stroll on a warm Summers evening, stopping off for a cooling beverage on the way.

The airport of San Javier (Murcia) is only 15 minutes drive with year round flights to many UK airports. Alicante airport is around 1 hours North.
