Located on the Thau Lagoon Meze is a nice, typical and lively village and harbour. Being a village lived in by people working in Montpellier or working on the oysters beds of the lagoon, it has a year round activity and a true typical Southern atmosphere. Its little harbour, lined with restaurants and bars shelters a small but active fleet of fishing boats and oysters barges. The village centre is made of narrow streets lined with ochre painted facades leading to several charming squares shaded by plane trees where a lively street market is held twice a week. A none the less lively covered market is opened every morning to propose local produce such as asparagus, French strawberries, cheese and charcuterie and of course a huge variety of fish and shellfish.

The Thau lagoon is a protected salt-water lagoon with crystal clear waters where the famous "Bouzigues oysters" are raised and is home to wild birds like white herons and pink flamingos. Meze boasts a family-friendly beach and several activities such as a sailing club and kite surfing club. A tennis club adds to the outdoor activities and the village is big enough to have all the daily life amenities of both a working and residential location.

It is fairly close to the ideal of Southern France foreigners or French people may have in mind with a joyful "art de vivre", a perfect location, and a typical architecture. Yet it is not very well known, or at least it is just being discovered at present. The view is across the Mont St Clair on the other side of the Thau lagoon where the port-town of Sete is rising from the sea.

The development is within very short walking distance to the harbour and village centre. Beneath the development you will find the sailing club and kite surfing school, tennis club and a small beach, the main beach being in the centre of the village, nearby the "petanque" field. The development location is perfect in that it is very close to the village centre while being not in the middle of the activity.
