The Young Sun 35 is a very seaworthy, heavy displacement offshore cruiser designed for bluewater passagemaking in comfort and safety. Inspired by the designs of Bob Perry, Gypsy is remarkably similar to other canoe-sterned sailboats of that era such as the Tayana, Baba, and Tashiba. She was sold in the US as the Young Sun and in Europe as the Westwind. Built to very high standards in the Far East, the Young Sun 35 has heavy fiberglass layup and beautiful interior joinery. The layout below is surprisingly spacious with 6' 4” headroom, you almost forget you are on a 35 foot boat. She spent the first 20 years of her life in the fresh waters of the Great Lakes.
