Serendipty's past was fast. Racing on the west coast of the US she was equipped for speed and winning races. She did win a few.

She was twice owned prior to the present owner, Glenn, and when racing was done she was outfitted for a cruising dream in Mexico. With stops in San Diego, Ensenada Mexico and finally settling in La Paz, she has seen the Sea of Cortez ever since.

Glenn says;

\"I had looked at several other boats but the layout of Serendipity was superior for my needs. The rear birth set up was a winner. A double birth, settee and hanging locker was far better than the usual quarter birth. The head was roomy and provided ample storage. \"

Serendipity holds her own in stiff winds and is efficient in a light breeze. The sail selection is from her racing days and all are in very good condition.

Serendipity is simple with the essentials for cruising and all that is necessary for sailing in any wind conditions. The free board is high and keeps her dry. She is a classic Catalina.

The wind gen keeps the batteries topped up sufficiently to run all the systems with energy to spare. A large fridge/ freezer and ample dry storage could keep you away from Marinas for weeks at a time. With her fin keel she is nimble and easy to maneuver in any tight passage.

Currently In the water in Marina Palmira, La Paz, she is itching to get back out to sea and show you what sailing the Sea of Cortez is really like.

Glenn has settled in to a different life here in La Paz and will be remaining on land for the foreseeable future.
