Our lovely 1996 Dehler 41DS is for sale. Excellent condition, fully loaded, lying Palma, Mallorca, Spain.

We have been only the 3rd owners of this deck salon yacht. Both previous owners were German and had the boat for over 10 years each. This fact can be seen in her excellent care and condition. All systems are in excellent working order and have been upgraded throughout her life. CAYUGA is lying near Palma, Mallorca Spain and can be viewed by appointment. Our plan was to do a Mediterranean circumnavigation with CAYUGA, but our plans have changed, and we might replace her with a smaller sailboat.

In preparation for our cruise we installed a brand new 16,000 BTU Webasto airconditioning system in summer of 2019, flushed all diesel tanks and replaced the fuel lines. We also serviced the autopilot as well as the Webasto diesel heater which keeps our boat warm on cold nights. The transom has been resprayed in Awlgrip as well as the hull is a new beautiful dark blue foil with a German guarantee of 5 years. All the works have been done in 2019 and everything is fully documented with over 25,000 Euro in receipts. We have the original owner’s manual as well as all the systems manuals. The boat is extremely clean and for a boat of this age in excellent condition. Before our trip we would have replaced the upper shrouds as they are the original ones. The lower shrouds have been replaced 4 years ago. Other than that, the boat is ready to go around the world. A clean survey of July 2019 is available.

Our luck not only was that both previous owners were meticulous Germans, but that that the last owner had a large professional paint shop in Germany. He relaqured and refinished the entire interior! You can see your reflection in the cabinet doors and the table.  Cabin soles, ceilings, bulkheads and cabinet lockers have either repainted been painted with 5 layers of high-quality clear lacquer or painted white in Awlgrip. The interior of this boat looks brand new. Older Dehlers are very sought after because of their quality construction, and when we originally looked for a cruising boat for the Med, the Dehler 41 DS was our first choice. New boats are not built to these standards anymore. The boat is built to the Germanischer Lloyd which is much stricter than the current EU conformity.

From the Kevlar hull, to the all stainless-steel anchor and chain, from the UK tape drive sails and double electric winches – CAYUGA is also a dream to sail. She beats most every boat up to 45’ upwind. The helm is featherlight even in a gale and she can be easily singlehanded as all control lines – even the double furling lines, come back to the cockpit. The boat was originally design by the team of Judel & Vrolijk, famous for their race boats and slippery hulls. The Dehler 41 DS is probably also the best looking and sleekest sub 55’-decksalon yacht available today.

The inside steering station is a pleasure to work at. Visibility forward as well as to the sides and aft, gives you an excellent place to take shelter in a gale, yet be in full control of the boat. The salon centers around a high gloss lacquered table where 6-8 can sit in complete comfort. The salon table lowers to form a very large double berth. There is a TV/DVD player on the aft bulkhead as well as a Kenwood stereo system with two inside and two outside speakers. The electronics suite is comprised of an autopilot, VHF (with inside and outside stations) a Garmin touch screen color GPS as well as 2 older backup GPS systems (both working). There is also a Fastnet radio weather fax with printer so you can literally print out and get weather anywhere in the world. For valuables CAYUGA even has a functional Burg-Waechter safe.

This Hull Nr 57 - Dehler 41DS is not a charter boat but has specifically been designed as a one head (which is very large) - owners yacht. There is even a large slide out chart compartment which allows you to stow Admiralty charts behind the nav station. Aft is a separate cabin that houses a very spacious double berth with room for 3! Forward is the owner’s cabin with a V-Berth and the very large head which can be accessed from both the owner’s cabin as well as the companionway. All berths are equipped with a mattress spring system for more comfort and better air circulation under the beds.

The galley is a chef’s delight and a proper working kitchen with a nearly 8’ countertop work space. The Force 10 stove is new and the 12V fridge with freezer compartment has a 110l capacity. The water tanks have been increased to double the standard capacity which means you can easily live for weeks “off the grid”.

The Whisper Power 6KW genset in conjunction with an excellent Victron Energy Quattro 3000 charger/inverter provides unlimited electrical power for the airconditioning as well as keeps the batteries fully charged. Most all the batteries have been recently replaced and are in excellent condition. The engine is trusty Yanmar 4JH -2E putting out 49 HP. Both the generator as well as the engine have been recently serviced and are both in excellent condition. The prop is a Gori feathering prop (with overdrive function) and has been coated with Speedguard and serviced in July 2019 when the boat was hauled, and bottom was painted with fresh Micron 350 Black antifouling. All deck hardware has been serviced and lubricated. We never flew the Gennaker (on a separate furler) or the spinnaker (in a sock), but they are in good condition. The dinghy is part of the deal and is stowed in the enormous aft locker.

Manouvering is easy with a joystick control bowthruster that rotates the boat in even the smallest Mediterranean harbors. CAYUGA is also equipped with a performance spinnaker/bowpole system, which lets you extend the tack of the Gennaker beyond the bow for extra performance. An emergency tiller is located in the cockpit compartment next to the hot water heater and twin fresh water pumps (yes, the boat has two pumps in parallel, so if one breaks, you have another)

CAYUGA is a fantastic boat and really needs nothing to go sailing. This is a unique opportunity to get a turn-key boat, fully prepared and ready. A boat with a full provenance and (meticulous German) history, service records and manuals. (oh, yes…you can eat from the bilges, that’s how clean she is.). I would safely say that CAYUGA is the best equipped and cleanest Dehler 41DS on the market.

The boat comes with all the kitchen equipment, dishes, fenders, lines, cushions, passarelle etc. At the asking price she is a bargain.
