Principal HVAC Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Client has established a track record of delivering integrated solutions to a wide range of sectors including aviation, commercial, residential, sports, leisure, cultural, educational institutions and healthcare facilities here in Hong Kong but also in the Asia Pacific region. In Hong Kong we want to enhance our building services consultancy capabilities and to support this we are looking for a Building Services or Mechanical Engineer, with particular expertise and interest in the design of air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, to support the delivery of major projects.

JOB DUTIES

As Principal Engineer your duties will include:

Involvement in all aspects of planning, design and specification of air-conditioning systems
Responsible for building projects both from a technical and managerial perspective, using the staff resources available within the team
Supervise and check the work of junior engineers and support their professional development in respect to design
Be expected to develop relationships with key clients and continue to promote the company effectively and the services they offer
Plan and manage manpower resource for projects and ensure appropriate technical experience and expertise is available to the project teams
Development of the skills and capabilities of staff through coaching and specialist technical leadership

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Degree qualified or higher in Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related
Proven technical ability in building services engineering, with particular expertise in the design and installation of air-conditioning (HVAC) systems
Corporate member of HKIE or equivalent will be desirable
Able to explain technical subjects to a non-technical audience
Able to multi-task and maintain a critical overview of interrelated tasks, projects and issues
