IES works with customers to develop their resources either through the development of new fields or by enhancing production from mature reservoirs. Malaysia is a fast growing operational centre for our client in the Asia Pacific region. With more than 1000 employees in country, the team is now responsible for more than US$2 billion of offshore projects.

ROLE SUMMARY:
To provide effective reservoir engineering capabilities covering all aspects of reservoir engineering, particularly in reservoir studies, field development planning and execution, reservoir management and surveillance, identify production enhancements opportunities, and enhanced oil recovery. To participate in evaluation and reviews new prospects/opportunities/ projects. To participate in peer reviews as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reservoir Studies
• Construct, history match, utilise, and update reservoir simulation models. Feedback
results to other functions to improve reservoir understanding and characterisation
• Identify, perform and/or supervise other reservoir engineering studies
• Strategise and perform uncertainty analysis/ multiple realisation
• Review and document studies
• Plan and execute fluid and special core analysis work

Reservoir Development Planning and Execution
• Develop, update, and seek approval of field development plans
• Liaise with and provide support to other functions to plan and execute development
plans
• Support operations and develop conceptual development plans for prospects and
notional assets

Reservoir Management and Surveillance
• Formulate, review, and enhance reservoir management plans and reservoir
surveillance plans
• Identify, propose, and evaluate opportunities to improve hydrocarbon production
and recovery
• Provide support to other groups in well intervention, data acquisition, etc.
• Prepare production forecasts using simulation models and/or other acceptable
techniques
• Identify, plan, and manage out-sourced projects efficiently and effectively

Leadership and teamwork
• Contribute effectively in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team environment
• Assume some leadership role and mentor/guide, and train junior staff
• Assume some supervisory role as needed

Business Development Support
• Participate in data room reviews, new prospect evaluations and reservoir
assessments leading to recommendations on asset value and commerciality.
• Provide reservoir engineering support to other locations as necessary

Miscellaneous
• To plan and budget reservoir engineering work programs
• Assess, review, and report resource base and volumes.
• Prepare and review technical and management reports
• Work with Procurement Dept. to ensure necessary subsurface contract is in place

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Only Malaysian nationals will be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline from a recognised university.
• Preferably 8 years working experience with about 5 years involvement in reservoir
simulation. Experienced in reservoir development especially during drilling
operations phase. Experienced in reservoir management and surveillance.
• Expert in using industry standard software for reservoir simulation modeling, well
modeling, well test analysis, etc.
• Have experience with secondary recovery methods, especially water flooding, gas
drive reservoirs. Experience in EOR recovery process is an advantage.
• Willing to work offshore as needed
• Familiarity with and ability to apply resource assessment and reporting standards
• Knowledgeable in economics and profitability analysis
• Well versed in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word and Power Point)
• Must be proactive and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Able to generate and communicate ideas effectively
• Possess good teamwork ethics and be able to work within a team
• Able to assume some leadership as needed within a team environment
• Willing to travel outside Malaysia on short term assignments, as required
• Be able to provide suitable references
• Be able to work effectively in a multi-discipline and multi-cultural environment
