SummitCare Liverpool - 173

The team at SummitCare Liverpool aims to provide the highest level of warm, welcoming and professional aged care.

SummitCare Liverpool comprises two attractive centres that deliver support and specialised dementia services to seniors in Sydney’s south-west. The centres are just doors away from each other, and offer single, twin and multi-bed rooms. A total of 100 residents are accommodated at the larger, modern-style site – including Acacia, a secure 40-bed dementia wing. Forty beds are located at the beautifully designed smaller centre

Residents can enjoy time with their visitors in cosy lounge areas or the larger communal areas. Outside, there are beautiful fragrant gardens and lawns, plus shaded courtyards.

Family members and other visitors are welcome to participate in what is happening – some even run activities. A comprehensive activities program includes bingo, reminiscence therapy, craft, pet therapy, visiting entertainers, monthly religious services and bus trips. Humour therapy is delivered through the Play Up program, and residents can relax and be pampered with weekly hair and beauty services.

Tasty and healthy meals are planned by our dietitian, and in-house laundry services are provided. Podiatrists and speech pathologists are among the allied health professionals available to residents.

A bus stop is located in front of the centres, which are a short bus ride from Liverpool station.

Contact SummitCare Liverpool today to arrange a tour, and live the life you want to live.

Safety Information

SummitCare is committed to ensuring the safety of the residents, relatives, staff and volunteers in our centres. We hold a bi-monthly Work Health & Safety and Risk Management forum, and each centre has an appointed committee.

Fire Training

Our residential centres conduct fire training for all staff members through Emcorp. Staff are trained in the use of equipment such as fire extinguishers, evacuation and general handling of an emergency fire situation. Mock fire training is also conducted, where staff practice evacuating residents under similar conditions. Residents can be involved in this training, or they may elect not to be involved.

Outbreak Management

In the residential aged care environment, outbreaks of infectious disease sometimes occur, despite the rigorous infection-control principles that are applied throughout our centres. SummitCare utilises a strict outbreak management procedure to contain the spread of infection in these situations. During outbreaks, visiting is suspended so as not to spread the infection beyond the centre. Any outbreaks are reported to the public health unit and the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency, as per our critical incident procedure.

HACCP

SummitCare kitchens are fully compliant with HACCP legislation. Food is prepared in accordance with the HACCP guidelines, as well as the Food Safety Standards of Australia.
