SummitCare Waverley proudly provides a nurturing home and a warm and caring community for our residents.

Nestled near the ocean, the two-storey centre is one of the leading residential aged care centres in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. It offers outstanding facilities for 67 residents, with single, two-bed and multi-bed rooms. A cosy lounge and dining areas allow residents to interact with each other and enjoy ocean views from the top floor. All rooms are beautifully appointed and residents can enjoy alfresco dining in the lovely courtyards.

From nutritious and tasty food designed by our dietitian to on-site hairdressing services and an in-house laundry, all aspects of care are thoughtfully delivered. SummitCare Waverley is close to public transport and shopping, making it easy for residents and their families to get out and about.

Residents can enjoy organised recreational activities such as scenic drives, barbecues, bowls and bingo, together with art therapy and pet therapy.

The wellbeing of the residents is our focus. Services are available from specialists such as optometrists, podiatrists and audiologists, and SummitCare Waverley has partnered with experts to create our popular mobility and exercise program.

We also offer the Play Up program, which delivers humour therapy to residents, and the Spark of Life program to improve the wellbeing of those with dementia.

Safety Information

SummitCare is committed to ensuring the safety of the residents, relatives, staff and volunteers in our centres. We hold a bi-monthly Work Health & Safety and Risk Management forum, and each centre has an appointed committee.

Fire Training

Our residential centres conduct fire training for all staff members through Emcorp. Staff are trained in the use of equipment such as fire extinguishers, evacuation and general handling of an emergency fire situation. Mock fire training is also conducted, where staff practice evacuating residents under similar conditions. Residents can be involved in this training, or they may elect not to be involved.

Outbreak Management

In the residential aged care environment, outbreaks of infectious disease sometimes occur, despite the rigorous infection-control principles that are applied throughout our centres. SummitCare utilises a strict outbreak management procedure to contain the spread of infection in these situations. During outbreaks, visiting is suspended so as not to spread the infection beyond the centre. Any outbreaks are reported to the public health unit and the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency, as per our critical incident procedure.

HACCP

SummitCare kitchens are fully compliant with HACCP legislation. Food is prepared in accordance with the HACCP guidelines, as well as the Food Safety Standards of Australia.
