We hear lots of talk about reducing our carbon footprint but how many of us can say we've actually done something about it? The owner's of Hawk's Nest have done something and in some style. Hawk's Nest is a delightful 3/4 bedroom home in the hills of Tortola, overlooking Beef Island, Little Mountain and Great Camanoe. With facility made for connection to the BVI Electricity power grid should connection become possible in the future, Hawk's Nest is entirely powered by wind, solar and propane. And all without any sacrifice in terms of creature comforts. Even the lengthy lap pool (complete 105 laps for your mile!) is powered by a very effective solar powered pump. A generous 12' wide covered deck wraps around the house and provides the perfect spot to relax in either the hammock or loungers and take in the awe inspiring views. 14 islands can be seen from the deck including Anegada, Great and Little Camanoe, Guana, The Dogs, Virgin Gorda, Ginger Island etc. It is truly a unique and very private vantage point. The home features beautiful custom doors and windows of African mahogany throughout. The well appointed kitchen is the main focus of the spacious, open plan central living area with, again, no compromises - solid wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances etc, etc. High ceilings add to the feeling of space. Leading from the central living area is the master bedroom suite and bathroom with wonderful outdoor shower. Complete privacy is assured for the modest bather. To the rear of the living room sits two further spacious guest bedrooms and bathroom. Beyond the master is a large room, currently used for storage, but which could easily be a fourth bedroom.
