Nestled on top of the cliffs between Praia da Luz and Burgau rests a closely guarded secret, the lovely resort of Porto Dona Maria. Set in ecological and natural land, and away from the main road the location is ideal. At the entrance to the resort is a 9 hole pitch and putt golf course. There is also another restaurant close to the reception. To the front, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, is the stunning and extensive pool area. The very large free form pool with its beach entrance is ideal for adults and children alike. There are extensive terraces with beds, all surrounded by grassed areas and Portuguese Pinheiros (pine trees) so lots of room for sunbathing even at the busiest times. For snack attacks you have café snack bar next to the pool. The house is on the corner of a row, with parking in front or to the rear. Up 6 steps bring you into the open lounge & dining area which leads out to the terrace, large enough for both dining and sunbathing. The floors are terracotta stone and the house has a wonderful rustic charm. Off the dining area is a bright fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and pantry. 10 steps down lead to the 2 bedrooms. The Master double has plenty of fitted wardrobes, and an ensuite bathroom with WC, Bidet and bath with shower. The twin room also has fitted wardrobes and an ensuite shower room with WC. There is a 3rd WC on the entrance floor and the house benefits from heating for the colder winter months. A 20 minute walk/ 5 minute by car will bring you to either Praia da Luz or Burgau, which both offer a wide choice of restaurants and of course, beautiful beaches. Sol e Mar literally means Sun and Sea which is what you get at this property. If your'e looking for a quiet location, beautiful pool facilities, but close to town then this is the ideal choice for families and friends.
