Marbella the resort is not just for the rich and famous though they are catered for, but more so in neighbouring Puerto Banus. The centre of Marbella is located 51km west of Malaga International airport and like other resorts along the Costa del Sol caters for all tourist and resident needs.
There are numerous hotels that line the Passeo Maritimo (promenade) that runs the length of Marbella's coastline as well as individual villas and villa complexes as well as apartment developments. These can also be found throughout the town of Marbella.

Puerto Banus has a relatively short history but probably the most notoriety of all the resorts on the Costa del Sol. Located just over 58km from Malaga International Airport and 6km from the centre of Marbella. The coastal bus route runs along the main road linking Banus with the rest of the Costa. Puerto Banus takes its name from the architect Jose Banus who designed the town in 1970.
The original design was for a luxury marina and shopping centre. Since then the resort has developed to become a party place for the rich and famous with its numerous exclusive beach clubs and beaches and the hectic nightlife of VIP clubs and music venues.
