4 Bedroom Country House For Sale

This 4-bed country house has a very special feel to it and manages to strike the perfect balance between the contemporary and the traditional. There is a beautiful pool and terrace area as well as a large and private garden. The golden sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast are just 25mins away, whilst shops and restaurants are also within easy reach.

The property has been a much-loved family home for over 20 years but also has an excellent rental track record. The property has been fully renovated and tastefully decorated and furnished, whilst still retaining all its 'turn of the century' rural charm.

Outside, there are 3/4 acre of private gardens, trimmed with grapevines and rosebushes and a beautiful 4m x 8m swimming pool. Bordering the pool is a large decked area, perfect for sunbathing and al-fresco dining. There is also an outdoor cast iron bread oven/BBQ. A double garage is attached to the house with a large private driveway.

The beautiful riverside village of Mareuil-sur-Lay is 5km away. Here there are a good selection of shops, restaurants and a supermarket.

The pretty market town of Lucon with its selection of colourful shops, cafés and some fabulous restaurants is 10km away. The excellent twice-weekly market is held here on a Thursday and a Saturday and should not be missed!

The wonderful Vendée beaches are a 30min drive and the tranquil lake at Chateau Guibert is a short cycle ride away. There is an excellent golf course about 15mins away and there are tennis courts at the nearby Mareuil-sur-Lay Tennis Club.

The Vendée is within easy reach of the Channel ports but also benefits from a mild climate with plenty of sunshine. It has been said that the Vendée is on par with the Riviera in terms of sunshine hours.
