POWER BOAT GUIDE SAYS... 'The company's most popular yacht from 1978 until a factory fire destroyed the molds in 1996, the Island Gypsy 44 Flush Aft Deck is a heavily built, long range cruiser with traditional trawler style profile and an unusual galley up interior. The 44 was built in China on a solid fiberglass semi-displacement hull, with fairly high freeboard, hard chines, and a prop protecting full length keel....Its 3208 Caterpillar diesel motors will cruise at a very economical  5 GPH  at 7 to 8 knots. 

This is a very rare Trawler that has a \"T&T HYDRAULIC LIFTING SWIM PLATFORM\" This is a $30,000 optionally added item!

Showing much newer than her age... this Island Gypsy has been extensively updated and lovingly maintained over the course of her years. She represents an excellent value and opportunity for her next owner to take advantage of the great efforts (and expense) put forth by her current owner and phenomenal liveaboard cruiser. The Island Gypsy 44 Trawler is one of few models of her size that have been noted for making Trans-Atlantic crossings.
