5 Bedroom Stone House For Sale

This 5-bed stone house ticks all the boxes for a grand French manor. Wood panelled walls, feature fireplaces, beautiful shuttered French windows… the list goes on. Add the location, in a town considered one of France's best kept secrets, and this property makes a very interesting opportunity.

Currently run as a 4 bedroom B&B, the property currently has 200m2 habitable space and the potential to increase this by converting the loft. The attic has beautiful wood beamed rafters and the space could be converted into bedrooms. Next to the main house, there is a separate 2 storey stone house that could be renovated into gite accommodation.

Beneath the house is a large basement. Outside, there is just over ¼ acre garden with lawns, mature trees and shrubs and great views of the surrounding countryside. The house is fully fenced, has a garage and plenty of parking space for 4 cars outside.

The property is situated about 10km from Argentat, a pretty market town on the banks of the Dordogne River. The town has many old bridges crossing the river and dining at one of the picturesque restaurants along the quayside is a great way to enjoy the scenery. There are a good number of shops and services in the centre of the town, and the hustle and bustle of market day draws people from the hills and farms to stock up on fresh produce and catch up on the gossip.

The area is renowned for it's natural, unspoilt environment. This region is said to be one of the best for fishing, and there are plenty of other water sports to enjoy. The national park surrounding the town has miles and miles of tracks designated for horse-riding, cycling and walking and a good chance of glimpsing deer and wild boar. If you're a keen forager, the area is also well known for its' Cepes.
