When describing a modern race boat, speed and comfort are two terms rarely used in the same sentence.  There are a select few boats though, that successfully combine these two attributes and when that happens you have something truly exceptional.  The Schock 55 Kokomo, designed by Marek, is one such boat. With demonstrated speed (LMPHRF rating of -27 and US Sailing ORR rating of 1.026), she has  numerous podium finishes in everything from the Chicago to Mac race (winning class twice) to local regattas. Post race you have a proper interior with berths for 10 including a removable V-berth, stove and oven, enclosed head, dedicated nav area, numerous opening ports and hatches, the list goes on.....

Moving on deck, the cockpit area has seat backs for crew comfort rather than the more traditional \"bath tub\" style cockpit arrangement found in many race boats.  Top shelf items like Harken winches and deck hardware, Navtec hydraulics, rod rigging, etc. are examples of using quality products  for a good end result.

When post race comes, the delivery home will be a pleasant cruise with features like Harken roller furling and below deck autopilot making short handed sailing much easier.

The icing on the cake is Kokomo has spent virtually all of her life in fresh water, far from the effects of salt water/salt air, sun and wear with the added bonus of a short season/only 5 months use each year.
