Paralimni
Many people who work in the tourist resorts of Ayia Napa and Protaras live in Paralimni. Following the invasion in 1974 the town has expanded and is now the administrative centre of the district. The word Paralimni means `settlement by the lake`. A lot of the newer properties are built around the banks of the lake, which is often dry during the summer months. The town is an excellent base in eastern Cyprus with Protaras and Ayia Napa only 10 minutes away.
Kapparis
Recently developed into an all year round resort means no matter what time of year you come to Kapparis there are always shops, bars and restaurants open. The local bus travels from the main town of Paralimni, through Kapparis onto the beach resort of Protaras then onto Ayia Napa making it an excellent holiday spot.
Many British and other Europeans have made Kapparis their home due to its friendly small village feel with a friendly local community.
The coastline is dotted with some really nice beaches including Malama and Firemans beach, both are perfect for families due to the shallow waters
