The house itself comprises of two interconnecting kitchens (each with traditional fireplace), lounge, corridor, bathroom, rear porch, with internal access to water cistern, and four small rooms. The house has electricity and mains water. There is also a connection to a telephone line. Although minimally habitable, it would benefit from a new roof and new flooring.

Adjacent to the main house, there is a stone barn with interior staircase which could be transformed into extra living space, workshop or even guest annex. To the rear of this barn there is a courtyard with access from the lane via metal gates. At the other end of this yard is the original bread oven and then a doorway leading to another barn. There is also direct access into the main house from this courtyard. The land to the rear of the house is flat with just a few olive trees and there are two big walnut trees near the buildings. There is a driveway to the side of the house with a sliding iron gate which also gives access to the land.

The village, Casais da Moreta, is very small but it does have a very good cafe/restaurant where you can eat excellent bacalhau (Portugal's most typical fish dish).

In Monsanto, the next village, just a 3 minute drive away, there is a minimarket, post office, health centre, primary school and nursery. A 10 minute drive takes you to the nearest town - Alcanena - where there are banks, chemists and a weekly market. The property is only a 75 minutes drive from Lisbon airport
