Locality: Gharghur

Gharghur, is a quiet rural village in the Maltese north which lies on a hilltop between two valleys. The large Parish Church located in the center of the village is dedicated to Apostle St. Bartholomew. One of the most important features of Gharghur is the statue of St. Bartholomew which is hewn from a tree trunk. Every 24th of August the village celebrates a feast where the statue of the village's patron saint is carried along the streets. Taking a walk down the valley leads one to the Victoria Lines, a defense wall that starts at Madlinea and ends at Rabat, passing through an area called 'Top of the World'. The entire area offers some great views.
