The Polis / Latchi area is the most scenic part of Cyprus and not overbuilt like some other areas. It is a 30 minute drive from Paphos and 45 minutes from the airport. This area has many good sandy beaches, beautiful countryside, and adjoins the unspoilt Akamas National Park, with its rugged coastline.

Polis is a traditional market town with paved streets, a wide range of tavernas (many situated around the attractive town square), restaurants, shops and medical facilities.

A five minute drive from Polis will take you to the beaches and the popular Marina at Latchi, where you can relax on the quayside, in one of the many fish restaurants - and watch the local fishermen returning with your evening meal. Latchi offers a wide range of water sports as well as individual boat hire, or you can take a short trip on a larger boat to the stunning Blue Lagoon, where you can swim, scuba dive, and then enjoy a relaxing BBQ on the boat. Just outside Latchi is the Anassa Hotel which is considered to be the best hotel in Cyprus.

A short drive will take you into the local hills where there are many quaint villages and tavernas serving traditional Cypriot food, and local wine.

The area offers a wide range of activities, including cycling, horse riding, water sports, as well as hiking in the Akamas Nature Reserve or the Paphos Pine Forest. Alternatively take a jeep safari and explore the Akamas Nature Reserve. For total relaxation enjoy the new Spa facility and Hotel which has just opened in Latchi.
