Locality: Mellieha

Mellieha is a town located in the North of Malta. Besides being an important residential area, it is also a popular summer resort, due to its numerous breath taking beaches and natural beauties. Mellieha's history dates back to 3000 BC, during the Neolithic period. Some temples from the time can still be found in the area, including Ghajn Zejtuna, as well as numerous caves and tombs. Mellieha is famous for its spectacular views, which include some views of the islands of Gozo and Comino as well. In the very heart of the town is the Mellieha church dedicated to Our Lady of Victory which was built in the late 19th century. Another one of the town's most famous attractions is Popeye Village, where the original movie was shot.
