Deryneia

Due to recent development Deryneia is now linked with the main town of the area, Paralimni. Although close to the main town it still holds it`s unique charm as a traditional Cypriot village with lots of local traditions. The strawberry festival, held every 2 years, brings visitor from the surrounding areas to sample the local delights and join in with the traditional dancing. The Cultural Centre is a must see for tourist and locals alike as it tells the story of the history of the area and overlooks the Ghost town of Famagusta in Northern Cyprus.
