House for renovation near Silver Coast

An old interesting building which has had two generations of families in the vineyard farming, which was done here in the heart of Vidais here on the Silver Coast. This house is full of history and just by walking through each room you get to feel with your imagination of just how life used to be.

Historically these houses were painted yellow which meant they belong to wealthy families, and these houses are still seen today here on the Silver Coast.

The building consists of a ground floor consisting of the original cement store houses where the wine was stored.

There is a huge amount of space which could be made into something like an entertaining area.

There is an enclosed patio with a door leading out to the outside.

From the patio you have old stone steps taking you up onto the first main floor of this historic building. There are two buildings with an adjoining patio with some stairs to on top of the main house.

The main room is where the wine used to be made up into bottles. It still has the old very high wooden ceiling, keeping its character. There are plenty of windows and also double doors. The flooring is of cement.

The adjoining building was the family house. Consisting of three bedrooms and a small kitchen and bathroom.

All with wooden floors. Looking out from the middle bedroom you look out onto the upper floor where also they had the wine cement storage holders for the wine.

From the top of the building the views are great.

The building still needs some restoration.

The property is 15 minutes' drive to Caldas da Rainha. This part here on the silver coast is even today the heart of the vineyards and still carried on very much with the old traditional methods. Also fruit trees, the apples and pears and the famous red and blue plums, which are also exported around the world.
