Kari Court
Set in pleasant surroundings, Kari Court is a secure, low-care dementia specific facility offering both long-term and respite care. As residents may experience symptoms of wandering, confusion or communication disorders, the area has been specially designed so each unit opens onto a main sitting room to create an unconfined, homelike environment with separate dining and activity areas. The individual units consist of a generous bed-sitting room with ensuite bathroom and enclosed balcony. All the units have central heating/air conditioning, high-low beds, built-in wardrobes, a bedside table and chair, points of television and telephone connection, and 24-hour emergency call buttons. Families are encouraged to add personal touches to bring a comforting sense of the familiar. A daily range of activities including gentle exercise, entertainment, discussion groups, crafts, bowls, cards and games is organised and conducted by our Recreational Activities Officers. Bus trips in a 15-seater bus are organised regularly and are supervised by staff.
