This house is like a trip back to when life was much less hectic, the owner has purposely kept it very simple with lots of original features typical of a French home in the countryside. Situated at the end of a lane on slightly sloping land you will find this wonderful home. It has been renovated using high quality oak floors and doors. As you enter the property there is a small barn which could be converted into a small gite if you wanted, it is small and compact and has had the roof replaced recently. Wander down the land to the main house which is picture perfect and akin to something from years gone by. The garden is awash with different fruits and herbs and smells wonderful. On entering the house you find the main living space which has the typical Normandy fireplace with kitchen at the side of it, in the same room there is a quaint corner sectioned off in wood to provide a Norman winter bedroom space. Through the door and into the hallway which has stairs to the 1st floor, the bathroom and the utility room which could easily be converted to a kitchen which would make the main living space a wonderful sized lounge/dining room. Go up the quirky stairs to the 1st floor with its landing area and 2/3 bedrooms. All the wood on this floor has been lifted and resited to form the old and lovingly treated floors for all the bedrooms. The house has the benefit of a new fosse septic. Outside, further down the land are two small buildings, one of which has been the original bread oven for the property and the other is used for storage. This property really has to be seen to be believed, it is a true French experience. On the land are lots of beautiful old trees and the land levels out to a lovely riverside at the edge of the property. About 5 minutes' drive from the nearest village and is tranquil and peaceful but not isolated, there are neighbours further up the lane. This is one not to be missed if you are looking for a real French experience. The nearest motorway is about 15 minutes' drive, nearest ports would be Cherbourg and Caen 1.5 hours and 1 hour respectively. Larger shops are in the town of Brecey about 10 minutes' drive away. The department of Manche is in Lower Normandy and is bordered with Calvados, Orne, Mayenne and Ille-et-Vilaine. The English Channel in the west, north and north-west coastlines makes getting here to its many ports very easy from the UK. There is also an airport in Caen and many others are easily accessible in the surrounding regions such as Rennes airport.

History is all over the department through its museums and heritage, discovering the local traditions and culture as well as Chateaux, religious monuments, water mills, maritime sites and gardens is easy to do. The biggest 'must-do' is a visit to Mont Saint Michel.
