Lovely stone cottage in quiet village
A charming well-presented stone cottage in a quiet village with courtyard garden - an ideal lock-up-and-leave holiday home.
House
Ground Floor
The front door opens into the entrance hall (4.5m2) with tiled floor and original stone basin. To the right of the hall a glazed door opens to spacious kitchen (23m2) which is fitted with a range of units, has a tiled floor and to the far end of which French doors lead out onto the courtyard garden.
Off the entrance hall is a tiled shower room with under-floor heating (shower, wash-basin and WC).
To the left of the entrance hall a door opens to a large living room (43m2) with wooden floor, double-height ceiling with exposed beams, exposed stone walls and a wood-burning stove. This room is easily large enough for both sitting and dining areas.
To the far end of the living room a door opens to a double bedroom (22m2) with exposed beam ceiling and exposed stone feature wall.
First floor
A flight of stairs rises from the living room to a mezzanine area which is currently used as an office (about 15m2). From the mezzanine a door leads to the master bedroom (24m2) which has an ensuite wash room (wash-basin and WC). A gallery landing leads from the mezzanine to a further bedroom (15m2) and a bathroom with bath, wc, bidet and basin.
Exterior
Outside there is parking for one or two cars and an easy to maintain gravelled courtyard garden well stocked with a variety of plants and palm tree. There is a useful storage building.
This is a well presented comfortable home within walking distance of the village boulangerie and bar. The popular little town of Aigre is just a short drive, as is the larger town of Mansle. It could make a lovely home or a lock-up-and-leave holiday home.
