Offering bushland views, Northaven Retirement Village is conveniently close to the local shopping area and within a five-minute walk to the nearby Turramurra railway station and bus route. At Northaven our aim is to achieve an environment of security and acceptance where one is welcome to make choices, have alternatives and to live with dignity. We offer quality low-care accommodation for those requiring respite care. Each single unit has a large bedroom/sitting area and an ensuite bathroom, a built-in wardrobe, small refrigerator, and 24-hour emergency call buttons. Northaven’s wide corridors make wheelchair access easy as is moving between floors by using either of the two lifts. Handrails also aid mobility. The central dining room and a lounge with piano and large screen television are located on Level 3. There is a second lounge on Level 4 as well as a library with an extensive selection of books, audio books and music. Facilities for personal washing and ironing are available in the laundry on Level 4. A kiosk opens daily, offering a range of toiletries, confectionery, biscuits, drinks, stationery, postage stamps for sale. Chapel services are held regularly in the Northaven Chapel for those who wish to participate in worship. For the benefit of our hearing-impaired residents, Northaven has installed hearing loops in the Chapel, lounge rooms and dining room. Residents have access to a range of professional services within Northaven. The doctor of your choice is able to visit you in your room. Our Hostel Supervisor is available during working hours, Monday to Friday. There is also a hair salon, physiotherapist, podiatrist, remedial masseur, reflexologist and beautician available by appointment at reasonable prices. In addition, deliveries by the local pharmacist can be arranged. Residents are encouraged to participate in the many organised activities such as scrabble, bridge and bingo, daily exercise program, craft, newspaper reading and discussion groups as well as Northaven get-togethers.
