Saint Georges D'Orques is a quant old village with its origins in antiquity, renowned of old for it's winemaking though with grain and olive production gradually taking over in recent times. The eponymous wine is one of the oldest known of the region and has been exported throughout Europe since the Middle Ages and then to the New World from the 19th Century. The village has managed to maintain its wine-making traditions to this day as well as carefully preserving its way of life by limiting development despite its close proximity to Montpellier.

The village has much to offer lovers of wine and French heritage as well as easy access to the coast and its various villages and resorts, the Camargue, the Pyrenees and Spain. With easy flight links from the UK this is an accessible getaway spot in the South of France.
