Stone Built Rustic House with Annexes Sleeps 9 People

This lovely property set on the edge of a village has been used for the past few years as a holiday cottage for the owner and also rented out as it can accommodate up to 9 people.

The property has been lovingly restored with the intention of trying to keep as many traditional features as possible but still having modern facilities.

This year it has been completely repainted outside and recently part of the annexes have been reroofed, so the house is in excellent condition.

The house comes with all of the furniture, some of which is period in keeping with the age and feel of the house.

The property consists of three buildings, the main house, the annex and a separate Jacuzzi bathroom.

The main house is four rooms plus an attic. The doors and windows are in wood with internal shutters. All the ceilings are pine and exposed beams.

Entering through the front door, you come in to the dining/sitting room. This has a log burner stove for heating.

Off this room is a bedroom, also with a log burner, the bathroom and the kitchen.

The bathroom is fitted with a bidet and shower and is a good size for the house.

The kitchen is small but still has room for a kitchen dresser table, but should you wish to add in more storage units this could easily be done. There is a double gas burner fitted in to the old chimney area and some wall mounted units above the sink.

It is from the kitchen that you have access to the attic space where there is a double bed settee and room for a single folding bed (which is included in the purchase). The attic has a lovely feel to it with the windows open and the light flooding across the wood ceilings and floor. The roof is insulated. The attic is accessed by a folding ladder which can be put away when not in use.

Outside to the front of the house is a lovely courtyard where you will see in the photos a patio table and chairs. Sitting here you get great views across the valley to the windmills and village a short distance away.

Across the courtyard is the annex.

In this building there is the lounge/second bedroom plus a large storage room.

The lounge contains a bed settee and brick fireplace and has patio doors to the courtyard for lots of light. The ceiling once again is pine and exposed wood beams.

There is a partition wall to the adjacent room which does not go to the ceiling and could be removed to make one large room if you wished. There is door through this wall leading to the storage room also with a door leading back to the courtyard.

Walking round the outside of the annex, through the lovely shaded garden with fruit trees, stepping stones and glorious views, you will find the master ensuite bedroom.

The bedroom contains a double bed, wood burning stove and some lovely pieces of furniture. The walls are finished in exposed stone and the insulated ceilings are in wood. Three steps lead up to the ensuite bathroom which is also finished in rustic style.

Outside, to the rear of the bedroom there is another small building housing a Jacuzzi bath.

The property is located at the end of a small lane and is not overlooked.

The main village of Reguengo Grande is about 15mins walk and contains all the amenities you will need including post office, mini-market, several shops and cafes, chemist and a museum. The village is typical Portuguese.

The house is 50 minutes from Lisbon Airport and 20 minutes to the nearest beaches and 25mins to the golf courses.

This would make an ideal holiday home or rental property. It would make a suitable first home but one should be careful to note that access to the property is down a hill so a car would need to be a consideration.
