Ruin to restore, land and a well, close to the river Zezere in Figueiro dos Vinhos

This stone house had a project approved some years ago to create a comfortable 2 bedroom stone house with a garage and workshop. It will be necessary to re-apply in the town hall which makes it ideal if you would like to do some changes to the original plan and make it in to your taste.

It consists of a stone building with thick walls, at the moment there is a metal roof on this part to help to preserve the stone walls. On the short end of this part is another further stone building, this part has unfortunately fallen down more and just some walls are standing.

The land surrounding the stone house is flat and a very good base to create a nice garden with plenty of space for a pool. The other part of the land is across the quite country lane, here it is in terraces with plenty of different trees and it is also here that the well is situated.

It is located in a village called Bairradas which is part of the town Figueiro dos Vinhos, it is around a 5 minute drive to the main town.

In Bairradas there are cafes, mini supermarket, a health center and a further 5 minutes down the road the river Zezere flows by with good fishing, hiking trails and a stunning century old dam.

In Figueiro dos Vinhos you will find most things for your every day life, such as cafes, resturantes, doctor, schools, supermarkets, a weekly fruit and vegetable market, events and plenty of clean water river beaches.

Lisbon and Porto is around a 1 1/2 hour drive away, Coimbra, Portugal's third biggest city is 30 minutes away, closest train station is located in Pombal, 20 minutes away and the seaside is a drive of 45 minutes.
