Lagos

Lagos is a historic city characterized by an exciting mix of architecture dating from the Roman Empire, the Moors and the Portuguese Renaissance and its close proximity to the sea. Throughout the years the city has retained its historical character, with a protective ring wall characteristic of the old glory days. The centre of the district is closed to vehicles and there are a variety of pedestrian streets full of life all year round and with a wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars attracting visitors from all over the world.

Just a few kilometres from Lagos are multiple picturesque beaches including Meia Praia, the longest in the region. Within this region there are several restaurants serving delicious local cuisine and refreshing drinks.

Within walking distance of the city center you'll find Praia da Ana and Praia da Batata, beautiful protected beaches with golden sand and turquoise waters. For golfers, Palmares and Boavista provide high quality courses which are open all year round.

In the Western Algarve the landscape becomes more rugged and less populated. At the far end is Cabo Sao Vicente, Europe's most southwestern point where the land connects with the Atlantic Ocean. A small fishing community, restaurants in this area serve freshly caught grilled fish every day.
