The resort is in the area called Palaepaphos (Old Paphos) and is near the seaside village of Petra tou Romiou. In Greco-Roman times, Paphos was the island's capital, and it is well known for the remains of the Roman governor's palace, where extensive, fine mosaics are a major tourist attraction. Paul the Apostle visited the town during the first century AD. The town of Paphos is included in the official UNESCO list of cultural and natural treasures of the world's heritage.

Paphos enjoys a subtropical-Mediterranean climate, with the mildest temperatures on the island. Paphos has been selected as a European Capital of Culture for 2017.

Just a couple of minutes from the resort hotel, there's a private beach, with umbrellas and sunbeds, and just a 15-minute shuttle ride away is Avdimou Bay, which switches between pebbles and sand, and comes with crystal-clear waters and a couple of great fish tavernas. There's also a Blue Flag beach at Pissouri, around fifteen minutes' drive away.

The Hani, Cypriot heritage and luxury living combined is a unique property standing at the highest point of Aphrodite Hills overlooking the scenic ravine and the Mediterranean Sea. Built around 1875, it was formerly an inn and a staging post for cart drivers and their animals on the trail - later a carriage road across the Rantidi Forest - from Limassol to Paphos.

Its construction reflects typical 19th century Cypriot village style using local stone and timber, and all ten rooms of the existing building currently retain their own fireplace and stable that are so typical of an inn of this period. Outside the inn, a large stone cistern collects rainwater and the stone threshing floor has been carefully preserved as a testimony to a traditional way of life.

Now, in keeping with Lanitis Development's strong commitment to preserve the heritage of the area, the inn - or "The Hani" as it is known locally is being sympathetically restored and transformed into a spectacular villa in what is one of the resort's most desirable locations.

The Hani is unique, beautiful and stylish and laid out over a single storey. The stone villa offers over 400 square metres of living area, approached through an uncommonly spacious entrance hall with a glass-covered stone waterway - a charming feature of the original inn.
