Where Furst Bismarck had negotiated the Gasteiner konvention!

From 1852 until 1853 the basic building of this opulent hotel in the style of late Biedermeier was built. This impressing building was one of the first SPA-houses in the so called Gasteinertal. Furst Bismarck was using it as summer residence. During the ongoing negotiations of the Gasteiner convention also King Wilhelm the first and the Emperor of Austria Franz Josef where there. The empress Sissi was also a good friend of Furst Bismarck´s wife and therefore she visited the house very often.

Also today the hotel is full of impressing history.
The reception, the marble stairs and some other rooms have been preserved from this time.
From 1976 until 1979 the complex has been carefully renovated. All guest rooms where renovated and equipped with Italian furniture.
