Situated in the leafy suburb ofCorinda, Bethesda Caring Centre has been an integral part of the Brisbane community for more than 50 years and has earned great respect for the high level of quality age care, Allied Health services and person-centred approach given to the residents and their families. Bethesda has always held strong ties to the local community, and the preservation of those ties is a high priority.

People of all faiths are welcomed and supported within the community, to nurture and encourage spiritual well being. Non- denominational Chaplaincy Services are offered to all and weekly church services are conducted for those who wish to attend.

A number of staff have remained at Bethesda for over 20 years – demonstrating a strong loyalty to their caring role and a profound feeling of family within our walls. This feeling is strengthened by our dependable volunteers, a number of whom are relatives of past or present residents.

Bethesda is a special place of beauty and our grounds and gardens are always enjoyed by residents and visiting families who can spend time walking along the river without leaving the comfort and safety of the facility grounds. There is off street and disabled parking available on site.

As a high-care facility, Bethesda specialises in caring for the needs of the aged and those living with a diagnosis of Dementia. Our clients are cared for with an emphasis on dignity and respect and we employ the Eden Alternative as the philosophy underpinning our care. Informed communication and guidance is provided to residents and their families in all aspects of decision making involving care and the continual open lines of communication with families and carers is seen as integral to the optimal wellbeing of each resident.

We have a very strong focus on quality continuum of care for those requiring a Palliative approach to care including End of Life care. Our highly qualified staff work closely with a variety of external health services and attending Medical doctors to ensure optimal care for all residents through each stage of their journey at Bethesda. Our Allied health services include maintenance Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, mobile Dentistry, Podiatry, referral to Audiology and Optometry services.

With a dedicated team of Leisure & Lifestyle coordinators there is a constant variety of planned and spontaneous events that also cater for residents with a high level of care needs. This provides important social interaction and maintains a sense of value in the Bethesda community. We welcome and encourage visits from family pets and have a visiting pets programme in place providing quality companionship to residents.

We endeavour to recognise dietary preferences and cultural requirements in our meal preparation in consultation with Wesley Mission Brisbane’s dietician and speech pathologists.

We are located just 20mins from the CBD and a short distance from the Corinda train station and the Corinda shopping precinct which includes a variety of gift, convenience and coffee shops.

Additional services can also be provided for residents with Bariatric needs and a safe unit is provided for mobile female residents with dementia.
