The coastal area of Ayia Thekla is only 5km away and Larnaca International Airport, just 50km down the highway. The village offers all amenities including shops, banks, schools and tavernas and the main town of the area, Paralimni, is only 3km away.

During recent years there has been a small industrial development which is expected to expand after the conversion of Sotira into a municipality.
