Description

The Macaulay/Mosley Residence, featured in Style Magazine, selected by the Sarasota Art Center for the tour of Private eyes, A Tour of Beautiful Homes & Collections & featured in Selected Works 2012 by Sweet Sparkman Architects. A seamless blend of old mid-century & new Modern, the home is stylishly set on a stunning 18,270 sf tropical botanical garden with terraces leading to Phillippi Creek. Built in 1959 & extensively remodeled in 2006 to discerning standards with addition of a 2nd floor master suite designed Sweet/Sparkman featuring wall to ceiling impact glass. This 3500+/- home is a Sarasota treasure from the arched bridge over a long Koi pond to the expansive decking around the pool, a perfect spot for entertaining intimate parties. The original 2 bedrooms are large-each with private bath. The Kitchen/Breakfast room would thrill any gourmet cook with Brazilian Green Marinache granite counters, stainless appliances, wine rack & plenty of storage. A 1/2 bath & large laundry room complete the downstairs. A custom open staircase leads to the new Master suite that has to been seen to be believed. This is truly a tree house in a tropical garden with privacy screen provided by lush landscaping & mature trees. The Master bath has double sinks, Turkish tiles that set off the cobalt blue tiles in the shower & tile floor inset with stainless steel tiles to add decorative impact. Downstairs an art studio also functions as a "safe room", built of concrete & steel with a backup generator.
