Description

Rocky Hills, the creation of the late Henriette Surh over 50 years ago, is a 12+ acres strolling garden within the natural woodlands of Mount Kisco, NY. The breathtaking and extensive collection features mature specimens of black walnut, ash, weeping beech, dawn redwood, stewartia, dogwood, an impressive collection of magnolia and conifers, rhododendron and azaleas, as well as thousands of daffodils, tulips, and alliums. The leisurely walk is a delight to the senses. Most impressive in May and June are the forget-me-nots, which reign throughout the garden. The leisurely walk also features a stream and woodlands garden featuring self-sown primula and a hillside meadow with clouds of perfect blooms among the ever changing rock garden. A charming antique Shingle House with wisteria covered arbor is perfectly set just to the side entrance and beautifully enveloped by the serene gardens and complemented by pools and waterfalls just beyond. A step-down living room with fireplace and beam ceiling opens to a summer porch with brick floors. A beautifully proportioned dining room opening to a pub room with old-fashioned bar and fireplace, a retro-kitchen and a rear office/guest room further complement the first floor. The second floor features a Master Suite with private balcony and an artist's loft with soaring ceiling, picture window, also with a private balcony and an additional two bedrooms and 2 full baths finish the family quarters.Rocky Hills, a hidden secret
