4 Bedroom Farm House For Sale

This quintessentially French farmhouse occupies a fabulous elevated position nestled in the Gâtine hills with fabulous views. Take a dip in the heated swimming pool and enjoy a slice of rural French bliss without feeling too isolated, as within one mile of the property sits a pretty village.

The barn-conversion and sympathetic renovations have managed to strike the perfect balance between the traditional and the contemporary.

There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and the layout is as follows:

Ground floor

Entrance hall into open-plan dining room/lounge with feature fireplace; fitted kitchen leading to breakfast room; shower room/WC; 2 bedrooms to the rear and a bathroom/WC.

The converted barn area, accessed from the lounge, provides a sitting room, which overlooks the surrounding trees and fields and a mezzanine floor above, again with stunning views. A games room at the rear leads out onto the private terrace.

First floor

A large landing area makes for an excellent study/office area; 2 double bedrooms and shower room.

Outside

There are various outbuildings, a garage and a workshop to the rear of the property. A handy active well sits within the grounds. A fabulous heated swimming pool is a real feature of the property and comes complete with a plastic dome cover and heat exchanger.

L'Absie is a small market town that grew up around its mediaeval abbey. It has an idyllic location in the gentle Deux-Sèvres countryside, yet is within easy reach of the Vendée coastal resorts and the vibrant port town of La Rochelle.
