Description

Elegant and secluded 4 Bedroom house in the countryside yet just minutes from shops and cafes in popular market town of Trie sur Baise, Hautes-Pyrenees in the Southern part of France.

This impressive house currently offering you :

Ground floor: hallway, kitchen, dining room, lounge, utility room, bathroom.

Upstairs: landing, 4 bedrooms ( one with en-suite bathroom) and family bathroom.

The attic space has great potential for extending the living space.

Outside: A separate outbuilding and workshop you may also wish to adapt these for your own project.

This property has just one immediate neighbour as the house is, indeed, semi-detached yet it sits alone in a really lovely spot. The neighbour does not live there, it is a holiday home only. They visit about 3 times per year for anything from 1 week to 3 weeks.

This is the Ideal 'French Home' as the driveway is about 900 metres long, fields to either side before you arrive 'home', peaceful, calm, yet so convenient as the local market town is just minutes away.

A really lovely spot

And, the price is negotiable, the owners are willing to discuss the price and with or without inclusion of the furniture.

I do know them personally and also met the current owners of this house because of the friendship between the two families.

There is just one side of their house that currently overlooks the courtyard.

In front of that there is a climbing vine which is an excellent screen in the summer, so there really is no problem.

This is a home ready for those who are desperate for a little tranquility and some privacy, not remote from the local community.

A good life, space, light, nature, a stunning house, the perfect combination!

A bit of background:

This house is quite special, perhaps because the charm of the 'typical' french house is so evident here...

The kitchen has no fitted units but still works well by the use of the furniture, strategically placed. A stunning fireplace there creates the ambiance and welcomes guests who may want to wander through or sit down at the dining table there.

The wood-burner is quite recent and so should not need to be changed.

If this style is not for you, then you would obviously need to budget for a fitted kitchen.

The rest of the house equally retains the traditional elements we love, such as the exposed beams and open fireplaces.

In terms of work:

The house has had a new roof, new electrics, new plumbing.

The fires / wood burners are just a couple of years old.

In the hallway some patches of the wall render will need to be attended to.

In fact, the house generally just needs to be 'tidied up', it needs refreshing. A bit of work on the render here and there

So, repainting is one thing that one would need to do.

The windows are single-glazed. Some people prefer to keep them this way, it is really down to personal taste.

But the exterior paintwork needs to be addressed, to bring this, already beautiful, home to her former and magnificent glory!

The owners are musicians and their artistic flair is evident.

This is a stunning home!

The department of Hautes-Pyrenees is the southern-most department of the Midi Pyrenees region, its capital being the beautiful town of Tarbes. The department has a very interesting geography as two small sections belonging geographically to Aquitaine are administratively part of the Hautes-Pyrenees. The department is split into two very different landscapes: mountains to the south covering half of the department, valleys to the north where the majority of the towns and villages are.

The economy of the department is mainly agricultural and tourism. Inside Midi Pyrenees, smaller areas have traditional names such as the Comminges (east of Toulouse) or the famous Gascony. Hautes-Pyrenees is a very nice area to settle and one area to look out for (not very well known) is the Baronnies, a set of 30 villages which decided to preserve their rural traditions. An unspoilt area, they represent the rural idyll for anybody in search for absolute peace, authenticity and rest.
