The back of the house sits against the small road which leads through this little village, with the main house and outbuildings looking over the area of land which stretches in front and to the side. It is a very tranquil spot, flat land all one level, with a view of the mountains in the distance.

Very much a countryside location, but an easy drive to the local market town of Trie sur Baise which has a variety of shops and amenities as well as an open air swimming pool it has quite a bustling little community. And, with a tourist office/internet cafe, doctors, dentist, Tapas bar and 'champion' pizza maker you have all you need!

Lannemezan, closer to the mountains, lies about 20 minutes to the South, nearer the mountains. Here you have the train station (where you could park your car and catch the train to many destinations) as well as the motorway which, again, links you very quickly and easily to many places of interest Tarbes, Lourdes, Pau, Biarritz (Atlantic) as well as the popular St Jean de Luz and Spain, a little farther (Bilbao). Also Toulouse, Carcassonne, Narbonne (Mediterranean). To name but a few!

Activities around the area include skiing (Pic du Midi, La Mongie, St Lary, Col du Tourmalet), golf, fishing, paragliding, mountain climbing and white water rafting.

Regular 'vide greniers' and 'brocantes' throughout the summer are all around the region, a 'must' for those bargains and rare items!

Jazz festivals (such as Marciac), Salsa festival at Vic Fezensac, Country festival at Mirande are extremely popular and attract so many visitors.

And there are yearly festivals at Tarbes, approximately 30 minutes away, such as the Tango festival and the Horse festival.

For a quieter day, it is so very easy to find quaint cafes in which to sip a drink under the shady canopy Trie, of course, but also Castelnau Magnoac and Saint Sever de Rustaing, for example.

Or a walk alongside the local Lake Puydarrieux, 10 minutes away just blissful 'peace and quiet' to recharge your batteries!

Easy access to the mountains (45 minutes from the Pyrenees) and Spain.

Closest airports : Tarbes / Lourdes (55km) and Toulouse Blagnac (108km).

The department of Hautes-Pyrenees is the southern-most department of the Midi Pyrenees region, its capital being the beautiful town of Tarbes. The department has a very interesting geography as two small sections belonging geographically to Aquitaine are administratively part of the Hautes-Pyrenees. The department is split into two very different landscapes: mountains to the south covering half of the department, valleys to the north where the majority of the towns and villages are.

The economy of the department is mainly agricultural and tourism. Inside Midi Pyrenees, smaller areas have traditional names such as the Comminges (east of Toulouse) or the famous Gascony.
