Capvern s'agit d'une station thermale nichee dans le piemont des Pyrenees a 475 metres d'altitude, sur le plateau de Lannemezan et le cours d'eau du Boues.
Entre Tournay a l'ouest et Lannemezan a l'est, l'acces peut se faire par la gare de Capvern (SNCF), la route nationale 117 ou l'autoroute A64 sortie 15.
Le quartier thermal de Capvern, Capvern-les-Bains, se situe a une altitude de 475 m, soit 100 m plus bas que Capvern-Village. Du fait de son altitude et de la protection des collines environnantes, le climat est plus doux que sur le plateau : les hivers moins rudes et les etes moins caniculaires.
Station thermale : les eaux des deux etablissements thermaux agissent sur les affections urinaires et digestives ainsi que sur les rhumatismes goutteux. Le traitement de la goutte des romains legionnaires semble avoir ete la premiere indication de la station.
Montaigne vint a Capvern en cure en 1568. L'essor de la station thermale date toutefois de la fin du XIXe siecle, periode faste du thermalisme pyreneen.
Son premier slogan, lance en 1875, est imparable : « Si ta vessie est menacee, Capvern sera la panacee » ! Les sources de Capvern les Bains ont permis de soigner un grand nombre de curistes celebres: Le Marechal de Lattre de Tassigny, Montgomery, Fernandel, Georges Brassens, Andre Dassary, Albert Ferrasse, Mady Mesplet, Francoise Rosay...

Capvern, because of its altitude and the protection of the surrounding hills, has a milder climate than villages and towns on the Lannemezan plateau: mild winters and hot summers. Capvern can be reached via train, with Tournay to the west and Lannemezan to the east. Also via the National Road 117 or A64 exit 15.
Capvern is known as a spa resort- the spa district itself, Capvern-les-Bains, nestles in the foothills of the Pyrenees, located at an altitude of 475 metres above sea level and 100 metres lower than Capvern Village.
The treatment of gout for Roman legionnaires seems to have been the first recording. Montaigne came to Capvern cure in 1568. The growth of the spa, however, dates from the end of the XIX th century heyday of spa Pyrenees. His first slogan, launched in 1875, is unstoppable: "If your bladder is threatened, Capvern be the panacea"! Sources of Capvern les Bains helped cure a number of famous spa guests: Marshal de Lattre de Tassigny, Montgomery, Fernandel, Georges Brassens, Andre Dassary Albert Ferrasse, Mady Mesplet, Francoise Rosay ...
The thermal water of the station Capvern Les Bains springs from two sources located a few hundred meters from each other, thermal water Hount Caoute and thermal water of bouride, two waters with exceptional virtues. The source of Hount Counte at a rate of 480,000 liters per day and a temperature of 23 ° 3 griffin. The source bouride, in turn has a daily throughput of 120,000 liters and a temperature of 19 2.
