Description:

The popular village location of Upleadon is set within the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside and lies close to the Herefordshire/Worcestershire border, which is characterised by traditional farms and wooded hills. The property enjoys views over Leadon Vale, towards The Cotswolds, and adjoins Collinpark Wood; ancient woodland which is designated as a SSSI and important nature reserve. The property is ideally placed to enjoy a rural quality of life, yet has good access to local towns, cities and links to the rest of the country.

Madams

* Madams was built c. 1932 on the site of a cottage, believed to date back to the 1500's. This was a favoured haunt of the artist Paul Nash during the late 30's, a regular visitor who took inspiration from this idyllic setting.
* The cosy sitting room features a beautiful brick inglenook fireplace, the original cottage chimney, inset with a Jotul wood-burning stove.
* 3 good-sized double bedrooms enjoy beautiful views over the vale countryside.
* 2 attic rooms on the second floor offer scope for more bedroom space or a variety of uses, such as an office/study, games room.
* The impressive entrance hall provides additional reception space and features original stone flooring with open fireplace.
* The property contains some unique period features, including wood panelling, wooden & stone floors and original glass tiles in the bathroom.

The Outside

* The property is approached by a long, private gravelled driveway, flanked by woodland which is carpeted with bluebells in the spring; a stunning arrival to a remarkable property.
* The natural and rambling gardens extend to about 2 acres, and are planted with mature trees and shrubs, including Japanese Acer and conifers and are very much a haven for wildlife and birds.
* 4 acres of mature woodland provide the backdrop for this unique property; a tranquil environment away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
* 2 timber garages provide useful additional storage. There is also an old summerhouse and a disused ornamental pond which crave reinstatement.
