This large 6-bedroom stone townhouse, in the heart of the desirable old town, comes with a garden, two garages and fine views.

House

Ground floor

The front door opens to the entrance hall with tiled floor. To the left a door opens to the dining room (6m x 4.2m = 25 sq m) with tiled floor and floor-to-ceiling panelling on the walls with concealed cupboards. From the dining room a pair of doors opens to the sitting room (6m x 4.6m = 27 sq m) with wainscoting, a pretty stone fireplace and a pair of French doors to the terrace and the garden beyond. From the sitting room there is a door opening back into the entrance hall and another door that opens to the morning room.

The morning room (about 27 sq m in total) has a tiled floor, wainscoting, a stone fireplace and two pairs of French doors opening onto the terrace. Garden level

From the corridor next to the kitchen a staircase descends to the garden level (this level is also accessible via a lift). Down here there is a large office / sitting room (about 70 sq m) split into two sections by a wide stone archway. The room has a tiled floor, an exposed stone wall, a fireplace and sliding patio doors to the garden. Off this room is a large laundry / utility room. There is also a vaulted wine cellar, a storage area and a boiler room.

Exterior

To the rear of the main level of the house is a terrace that overlooks the garden and which has fine views. As well as being accessed from the garden level, the garden is also accessed from this terrace by a very attractive pair of curved stairs. The garden has a formal symmetrical layout with lawn, low stone walls and a path leading down to the far end. Here there are two "towers" which are, in fact, garages with first floor levels, flat roofs and very fine views. There is also a gateway to the road allowing vehicle access to the garden.

This is a very substantial house in the heart of this historic town, just a few minutes' walk from the theatre, shop, castle, caf�s, market and so on. It would make a very fine family home or, given that there is private parking, an exclusive bed and breakfast.
