Standing Proud....

This is a house which makes a position statement for me. Obviously built with pride, a local successful merchant perhaps, on the road into this historic village. Even the extra width of pavement here adds to its style. All you need to do is just turn up and move your furniture in, absolutely nothing to do, clean, bright, yet with enough traditional features to make it essentially French.

Entry is into the hallway with a beautiful curving staircase at the rear taking you up to the two floors above. To the left is the 26m2 lounge with stone fireplace, wood-burning stove and oak beams. To the right is the fully fitted kitchen with dining room at one end, door to the garden and again stone fireplace with wood-burning stove and those oak beams. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, both the same size as the reception rooms, and a bathroom with toilet and shower over the bath, off the landing. The top floor has the same configuration, except for the modern shower unit instead of bath. Decoratively the house is in very good condition; the central heating is provided by the latest (cheap to run) electric storage heaters, and the house is on mains drainage.

One of the problems often with a town house is you have to forego a garage or garden, but not here. A large garage, there is room for the car and a workshop behind, also storage space above. The garden is approximately 500 m2, with a patio area by the house and grass and flowers beyond. There are a couple of sheds as well for that essential storage space.

Well situated on the edge of the village of Jousse, with boulangerie and bar, nor far from the slightly larger village of Usson with a range of facilities and about 40 minutes drive from Poitiers with all the shops, restaurants, cinemas etc. of a big city - including the airport and TGV links to the UK.
