Exterior :

If you are looking for Karaoke, Sports bars and all day breakfasts we are sorry but San Juan is not the place for you.

Given its full name, San Juan De Los Terreros, also known as the Cornwall of Spain due to its coastline and mining history, it is a very friendly and we think very special place. It is the last small town / village on the Costa Almeria ( the hottest Costa in Spain ) It is still very Spanish but also has a very good mixture of Europeans.

The beaches are very safe for children and are cleaned every day. This is a very popular coastline for diving with many wrecks to explore. There are many sheltered coves with Chiringitous ( beach bars ) to sample. Whilst the restaurants are mainly Spanish, there is one Chinese ( seasonal ) and one Belgian. One Spanish bar does excellent fresh Pasta & Piazzas. There is a supermarket open 7 days a week which stocks almost everything you require including fishing tackle and the essential beach items. Every Sunday is a market in Terreros and many others on different days within a short drive.

The nearest bar is only a 2 minute walk ( Annies Bistro ) selling a vast choice of Belgian beers, good food and a great meeting place.

The beaches, bars and restaurants are a leisurely 15 / 20 min walk.

On 23rd June is the San Juan Fiesta ( Noche de San Juan ) starting approx. 10pm till 7am and is a great atmosphere for all ages if you can keep the pace !!

July & August there many events going on most days.

The nearest big town is Aguilas ( Eagle ) This is on the Costa Calida ( Murcia province ) which is a coastal town again with fabulous beaches and a couple of Marinas. It is very relaxed at any time of day or night. There are bars down almost every street and plenty of restaurants too. There is a beautiful promenade ( Paseo ) with cultural centre, Maritime museum, Castle and Theatre.

The Aguilas carnival in February is a must to visit, lasting 10 days and is said to be on par with Rio.

San Juan is 1 hour to Murcia ( San Javier ) airport - 1 hour 15 mins to Almeria and 2 hours to Alicante.
