Francavilla Fontana is a large and impressive town situated between Ceglie Messapica and Manduria. It has a history of tailoring and its former affluence is plain to see as well as a good selection of boutique stores and small independent tailors who are only too happy to make anything you wish in your choice of fabric for a tiny sum! Manduria is also one of the largest producers of Primitivo wine in Puglia and there are many cantinas to explore where you can try fine wines. There is an exceptionally large market in Francavilla
every Saturday which is famous for its designer shoes and Italian leather goods available.
