BETTYS BAY has no street lights, mostly gravel roads, few houses have surrounding walls which allow the animals, porcupines, mongoose, red buck, franklins & guinea fowls to roam always.

The KOEGELBERG MOUNTAIN range which has international recognition for its BIOSPHERE status looms imposingly over BETTYS BAY and offers a different site daily. There is a waterfall at the beginning of RODS TRAIL which winds its way along behind the houses through to HAROLD PORTER BOTANICAL GARDENS which offers many an indigenous plant & flower to enjoy together with its own waterfall and many a trail leading over into the KOEGELBERG & KLEINMOND mountains.
