On the Silversands dunes, there are the ruins of the sentinel outposts which served as lookouts & being of strategic military importance during the war years to alert the military to the ever present U-BOATS.The entire area offers many walking/running trails both on land & mountain. It is the home of the JACKASS PENGUIN, which can be found at STONEY POINT.
STONEY POINT has been being upgraded and now offers a restaurant which is open daily 10:00-17:00 together with a museum which gives insight to the history of Bettys Bay and information regarding the JACKASS PENGUIN which can be found right there. Thus offering star quality facilities to both visitors, anglers, fishermen & the local community.
