Our Village, nestled in the slopes of the hills at Belair, represents a blend of history, beauty and tranquility. Located in the dress circle of the Adelaide Hills, the Kalyra Heights Village has progressed significantly since construction first began in 1992. In 2008 our mature Village complex hosts 76 superior Villas, 29 tastefully designed Villa Apartments and a vibrantly stylish Village Centre.

The Village Centre, “the jewel in the crown”, presents to our residents and their guests a building full of history and charm, which is both comfortable and spacious, and very stylish. Facilities include a craft room, spa, billiards/darts, extensive library, professional consulting suite, salon hairdresser, two-room gymnasium, computer room, games room for indoor bowls and table tennis, a separate meeting room for our various interest groups plus an elegant lounge/dining area complete with an open fireplace. The Kalyra Heights Village and adjacent Kalyra Aged Care facility are owned and operated by the James Brown Memorial Trust. The Trust was incorporated by a Private Act of the South Australian Parliament in 1894 and which was later replaced by an updated Act of Parliament in 1990. The James Brown Memorial Trust is a charitable organisation for the benefit, care, relief and maintenance of persons in need in South Australia, especially those with insufficient means. The Trust's major focus of activity is that of a service provider of the highest standard, in the fields of health and welfare, with particular emphasis on the aged, disabled, chronically or terminally ill, and the homeless. Proceeds received from the investment in the Kalyra Heights Retirement Village are used to further the Trust’s mission of improving the quality of life of those in need. The James Brown Memorial Trust has provided extra Independent Living spaces at the Kalyra Heights Village through its latest development of 19 Villa Apartments.
